Absolutely not. This is the beauty of my services. Your first visit with me can begin in the first week or two following birth. Pelvic therapists are the experts on birth recovery! The sooner you start, the better you’ll feel and the quicker you’ll progress in your healing. What a benefit to have eyes on you sooner than the six week checkup! I also work closely with physicians should any concerns arise.

No! Well, not at first. California requires a signed plan of care after 45 days from the initial evaluation. Following your first visit, I will send this to your doctor for a signature so we have it on record.

An internal pelvic floor assessment is an extremely useful tool when appropriate. We will discuss the process of an exam, the specific benefits for you, and go over any concerns. This is always your choice. That being said, I do not perform internal exams in the first trimester of pregnancy, the first six weeks postpartum, or if there are any medical restrictions in place.

As a provider who does not take insurance, I am able to travel to your home, spend an hour with you directly uninterrupted, and utilize as many visits as needed without dictation by an insurance company. I do provide a superbill after every session that you can submit for out of network reimbursement. However, I do not deal directly with insurance companies and do not have any contact with insurance companies.

What To Expect
-
Get Started
Schedule your initial therapy session (or wellness visit) here conveniently online. Payment is easy and upfront for a more seamless visit later. You will receive an email with paperwork to fill out and sign that must be completed prior to your appointment. You will receive a confirmation text the day before.
-
Day of your session
You will receive a text from me when I am on my way. I will bring a treatment table, a bag of treatment tools, and my laptop to keep track of our session. We will begin by going over your history, proceed with an evaluation based on your symptoms, and then I will provide you with individualized hands-on treatment, exercises, education regarding findings, and any activity modifications.
-
Following your visit
You will receive a check-in message from me as well as a summary of our session. I also recommend scheduling your next appointment right away to ensure a time that fits your schedule. Instead of providing patients with a generic exercise handout or videos, I use your phone to video you or myself (your preference) performing the exercises as they are individualized specifically for you. Please contact me at any time with questions regarding anything with your plan of care.
