Jamie Friend, PT, CAPP-OB, PCES
Hello lovely! I am a physical therapist and owner of Anchor Pelvic Therapy, specializing in women’s pelvic health and overall wellness. With over two decades of physical therapy experience and more than eight years in the women’s health field, I am passionate about providing personal, individualized, and skilled interventions and education. I designed Anchor PT to provide convenient care that is based on each woman’s specific needs.
While I am trained in and treat a wide variety of pelvic floor conditions, I specialize in pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and post-surgical care. These are significant periods of transition in a woman’s life, and I believe every woman deserves the support, guidance, and individualized care she needs to navigate them.
I am a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist and hold a Certificate of Advanced Practice in Obstetric Care. I have advanced training in myofascial release and visceral mobilization techniques and am working toward certification as a Birth Healing Practitioner.
I am also a strong advocate for early postpartum care and specialize in rehabilitation following abdominal and pelvic surgeries, helping women restore strength, function, and confidence as they recover.
Before specializing in women’s health, I worked as an orthopedic physical therapist, with a particular interest in hip and sacroiliac joint dysfunction. I continue to incorporate these into my treatments now.
Hormone health and functional medicine are also passions of mine, and I am committed to continually expanding my knowledge in these areas to provide comprehensive care for the women I serve.
My three boys keep me busy! I understand the need for convenient and effective interventions to fit any schedule.
I love wellness! Pilates, yoga, barre, weight-lifting, hikes, and dog-walking are my favorite fitness activities. Being in the kitchen cooking and baking healthy (or not!) bites is one of my favorite things to do.
If any spare time is to be found, I love a good fantasy novel or I curl up to Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Downton Abbey, or Anne of Green Gables movies on repeat. And I LOVE coffee.
